Louisa Watts, an African American, became involved in the women's suffrage movement. Although uncertain at first about the importance of the suffrage movement to women's freedom, Louisa soon saw its worth. She later worked tirelessly to get legislation passed that would allow all women, regardless of color, the freedom to vote.
